The registrations of the students who are accepted to Boğaziçi University with the “Admission of Students from Abroad to Undergraduate Programs” will be received via e-mail.
Newly admitted students who prove that their English language knowledge is sufficient with a language exam accepted by the University Senate may register for the programs they have been admitted to. Students who cannot provide the English language proficiency, must take the English Placement Exam (DBS) (please visit https://yadyok.bogazici.edu.tr/ for the test date and more information).
English Proficiency Exams recognized by Boğaziçi University Senate: BUEPT- Boğaziçi University English Proficiency Exam
The English Proficiency Test (BUEPT) is administered by the School of Foreign Languages (YADYOK). Scores are valid for two years after the test date.
Applicants who have already taken the TOEFL® or IELTS and received a sufficient overall score but failed to achieve a sufficient score in the writing section must present their TOEFL® or IELTS score report to YADYOK and apply to take the TWE. Those who achieve a sufficient score on the TWE will be considered proficient in English.

International students newly admitted to an undergraduate program at Boğaziçi University for the Academic Year 2026-2027 are required to create a single PDF file with all the required documents for registration and send them to the Faculty Student Affairs officers via e-mail on the dates specified below. Students who have missing documents from the required documents for registration will not be registered.

Required Documents
If required documents are not in Turkish or English, translated versions of the documents should also be submitted. Translations by translation agencies are also acceptable.
1. Passport / National Identity Card or Blue Card,
A copy of your passport (including the pages showing your entries to and exits from Türkiye) or your Turkish National ID Card / Blue Card.
Foreign Identification Number (YKN)
- All international students except Turkish citizens, Blue Card holders, and those who already hold a valid residence permit in Türkiye, must obtain a Foreign Identification Number (YKN) before completing their registration.
- Turkish citizens, Blue Card holders, and students who already possess a valid Turkish residence permit will be registered using the identification number printed on their Turkish ID card, Blue Card, or residence permit card.
- Students who are required to obtain a YKN must first enter Türkiye. After their arrival, the Office of International Relations will obtain the YKN on their behalf. It is not possible to obtain a YKN before entering Türkiye.
International students who are required to obtain a YKN will not be able to complete their registration without it.
2. International Examination / Diploma Result Certificate (e.g. SAT, IB, GCE A Level, Abitur, etc.)
English Language Proficiency Certificate
(TOEFL®, IELTS, or BUEPT score report approved by the School of Foreign Languages (YADYOK))
- English proficiency certificates that have not been approved by YADYOK will not be accepted.
- To obtain approval, please send a copy of your passport together with your English language certificate to hazirlik@bogazici.edu.tr After your documents have been reviewed, you will receive an approval letter, which should be submitted together with your English language certificate during registration.
- Applicants who are unable to present a YADYOK-approved English proficiency certificate at the time of registration will be enrolled in the English Preparatory Program.

4. High School Diploma Equivalency Certificate
The High School Diploma Equivalency Certificate can be obtained from:
a) the Education Counsellor/Attaché Office of a Turkish Embassy or Consulate in your country; or
b) the Provincial Directorates of National Education in Türkiye.
- Applications for the Equivalency Certificate in Türkiye are submitted online.
- To apply online, students must:
a) have entered Türkiye with a student visa; or
b) have obtained a residence permit after arriving in Türkiye.
Students who do not meet either of these requirements cannot apply for the Equivalency Certificate online.
5. Official High School Transcript
6. Student Visa, e-Visa, or Residence Permit
Students coming from countries that are exempt from the Turkish visa requirement must also submit copies of the passport pages showing their entries to and exits from Türkiye.
7. One Biometric Photograph (taken within the last six months)

The registrations of students who have been accepted through Boğaziçi University transfer will be received via e-mail.
Transfer students newly admitted to an undergraduate program at Boğaziçi University for the Academic Year 2026-2027 are required to create a single PDF file with all the required documents for registration and send them to the relevant Faculty Student Affairs officers via e-mail on the dates specified below.
Newly admitted transfer students who provide proof of English proficiency via a proficiency exam accepted by the University Senate may register for the programs they have been admitted to. Students who cannot demonstrate the required level of English proficiency do not have the right to register for the English Preparatory courses.
Required Documents
For Students who are Turkish Citizens:
1. Original high school diploma
2. For students who graduated from high schools outside Turkey, an equivalency certificate is required. The certificate can be obtained from the Turkish Embassy in your country or the National Education Directorates in Turkey. If you submit your application in Turkey, considering further procedure, we recommend you to receive the certificate from the Provincial Directorate of National Education in İstanbul (Address: İstanbul İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü, Binbirdirek M.İmran Öktem C.No1 Eski Adliye Binası Sultanahmet/Fatih/İSTANBUL) rather than a directorate in another Turkish city. You are required to submit your high school diploma, its translated version, and your high school transcript in order to receive this letter.

In order to register to the new programs of the students whose internal transfer applications are accepted; must terminate their registration in the current program. The students should fill the “Registration Declaration Form” and the “Termination Application Form” and get the signatures of your Department Heads and the Tuition Office onto the forms. The students have to send the scanned version of the form by e-mail on the dates specified below to the person (the program they are enrolled in and the program they transfer to) in charge of their “Faculty Student Affairs officers” .
After the necessary procedures are completed by the Faculty Student Affairs Office, students can register to the program they are accepted, on the days announced in the academic calendar.

Students who have been accepted to the Double Major Program by both departments to register must fill in and sign the “Undergraduate Double Major Program Declaration Form” . The students must send the scanned version of the form by e-mail to the person in charge of their “Faculty Student Affairs officers” .

Students who are accepted to the minor program must fill in and sign the “Undergraduate Minor Program Declaration Form” in order to register to the related programs. The students have to send the scanned version of the form by e-mail to the person in charge of their “Faculty Student Affairs officers” .
The registration of newly admitted students to Boğaziçi University Graduate Programs will be received via e-mail.

Candidates who are accepted to graduate programs are required to create a single PDF file with all the required documents for registration and send them to the Institute Student Affairs “Graduate School Officers” via e-mail on the dates specified above. Candidates who have missing documents from the required documents for registration will not be registered.
