TUITION AND FEES
Each academic year, the University Executive Council announces the tuition and fees that students must pay in contribution toward current service costs of institutions of higher education, following the enactment of the relevant decree by the Council of Ministers.
- The Registration Process
- Students who are not subject to tuition and fees will have access to the registration system on the date announced in the academic calendar. Such students will be able to enroll for the relevant semester and benefit from rights granted to all students upon approval by the academic advisor of the course schedule they have prepared and submitted within the registration period specified in the academic calendar.
- Students who are subject to tuition and fees will be able to access the registration system once they meet their financial obligations. They will be able to enroll for the relevant semester and benefit from rights granted to all students upon approval by the academic advisor of the course schedule they have prepared and submitted within the registration period specified in the academic calendar.
- If students who are subject to tuition and fees attempt to access the BUIS/OBIKAS System before paying their tuition fees, the system will display an "incomplete payment" error message.
- Payments can be made via ATMs, bank offices or Internet banking to Garanti Bank using STUDENT NUMBER, during the period specified in the academic calendar. Payments should not be made by EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) or any kind of money transfer. If otherwise advised by University authorities under special circumstances, the relevant payment receipts should be kept until graduation.
- While making an online tuition payment (which you can make in partial payments), Tuition (HRC) option should be selected. Do not make any payment other than for HRC (tuition), even if otherwise advised by bank personnel. You will not be asked to pay a Registration Fee (KYU).

- Students who are citizens of the Republic of Türkiye and have transferred to Boğaziçi University from a foundation university in Türkiye or a university overseas will pay tuition fees as specified above.
- Students in their first year of English preparatory classes are exempt from paying tuition fees. Students who fail at the end of their first year in the English preparatory program and wish to register for a second year must pay the tuition for the relevant program, as indicated above.
- The additional 1 year granted in Double Major Programs is considered as part of the student’s expected duration of study.
- The additional 1 semester granted in Minor Programs is considered as part of the student’s expected duration of study.
- Research assistants employed by State Institutions of Higher Education who are graduate students in a regular day program are exempt from paying tuition fees.
- Students who are children of martyrs and war veterans are exempt from paying tuition fees throughout their education.
- The tuition fees of students awarded scholarships by a given Ministry or public institution are paid by the relevant Ministry/institute.

The following students are exempt from paying tuition fee payments as long as they are within their regular period of study:

• Turkish citizens admitted to undergraduate programs before the 2021-2022 academic year under the international student quota

• Blue Card holders admitted to undergraduate programs before the 2021-2022 academic year under the international student quota

• Students from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus who completed high school there.

- English Preparatory Class Students
Students who fail at the end of their first year of the English Preparatory Program can register for a second year if they wish, by paying the tuition of the department/program to which they have been admitted. According to the decisions of the University Executive Council taken at their 21 November 2012 meeting (2012/28), the rights of registered YADYOK students in remedial status are as follows:

- Students of Graduate Programs (with additional tuition and fees) must first pay their fees before proceeding with their academic registration. Otherwise the system will display an "Incomplete Payment" error message.
- Students should use the "Payment Calculator" screen in the OBIKAS system to calculate the amount to be paid based on the courses they plan to take.

- I transferred to Boğaziçi University from a foundation university. What is the tuition fee I must pay?
If you are a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye, you will be exempt from tuition during the program's expected duration. If you are not a Turkish citizen, you will pay the tuition specified in the Students with Foreign Citizenship table.
- I transferred to Boğaziçi University from a university overseas. What is the tuition fee I must pay?
If you are a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye, you will be exempt from tuition during the program's expected duration. If you are not a Turkish citizen, you will pay the tuition specified in the Students with Foreign Citizenship table.
- I was unable to complete my registration during the registration period due to circumstances beyond my control. What can I do?
You will not be able to benefit from rights granted to students while you are not registered. If you wish to complete your registration, you must submit a petition to your institute or faculty and any relevant documentation explaining the reasons for your inability to complete your registration on time. The executive council of the relevant institute/faculty will evaluate your petition.
- Does my time in preparatory classes count toward normal time to degree in undergraduate and graduate programs?
No.
- Will the time I am not registered be deducted from my expected / maximum period of study?
Yes.
- I am a research assistant. I have not graduated by the end of the expected period of study. Do I have to pay tuition?
Research assistants employed by the State Institutions of Higher Education who are graduate students in a regular day program are exempt from paying tuition.
- I have a Blue Card. May I pay the tuition that applies to citizens of the Republic of Türkiye.
Yes. A holder of Blue Card pays the tuition that applies to the citizens of the Republic of Türkiye.
